This past week I met with a fellow ACIM student and she asked me how she does not understand how and why this ‘separation’ from Source or God or Love happened. It is such a common question that is asked and usually there is not any satisfactory answer.
This is because the separation never happened.
Yet even this is something that is very difficult to grasp and cannot be understood intellectually. It must be an authentic experience.
I felt inspired this week to read a chapter from my upcoming book From Medicine to Miracles- A Physician’s Journey of Healing. In this chapter, I draw from Eastern spiritual traditions including the teaching of the Buddha as well as quantum science and contemporary movies to illustrate these difficult concepts of separation, illusion, living in a dream world and awakening from the dream.
What follows is a wonderful discussion where we shared tools to help us apply these ideas to our daily practice with ACIM
- Being vigilant of our thoughts and thought-patterns.
- Being willing to choose again if we find ourselves in place of judgment
- Being willing to bring our ideas and concept to that place of Light, Wisdom and Love within us
