I wonder what your background and upbringing have taught you about responsibility and guilt. In my culture, being a first-generation Indian immigrant, I felt an acute sense of pressure to achieve and become something in both my professional and personal life.
Now, it is wonderful to aim for excellence in our lives and act from a sense of integrity. However, I often found myself feeling that no matter what I did in form, it was never enough – in terms of my roles as doctor, daughter, wife, mother, etc., etc. Often, I would judge others by the same unrealistic standards. Certainly, I was not feeling very happy nor very peaceful in those days!
Message from Maggie Day 4 – Healing from guilt
When I came to the teachings of A Course in Miracles and Mary Magdalene, I felt I could finally relax and let go. When I connected to Maggie in prayer asking how I could free myself from guilt, here is what I heard her say :
Let yourself be still and allow yourself to know this—my responsibility is to accept the love that will set me free, to accept the light that will illumine the darkness in my mind, to accept the comfort that I so long for, to accept the rest that I so desperately need, to accept the warmth of the embrace of the Beloved that will never falter.

Thanks to my mighty companion, Mary Straub, for her diligent transcription of these messages!
