Tomorrow, May 30th at 11am EDT to 1pm EDT is our Zoom circle, when we conclude our 7-day program. We will be sharing some clips from 2018 Mary Magdalene movie which beautifully illustrate her journey from shame to becoming a powerful agent of healing. There will be time for meditation, as well as opportunity to join with about 20 other mighty beloved companions from all over the world! I know it will be a truly healing and powerful experience for us all. Today is the last day to register, so if you feel a spark to join, please check all the Zoom details below at end of this post.
Why do we have to go into the darkness to find our light?
Mary Magdalene (Maggie) shares with me that the reason she has asked us to make this journey into what can often feel like dark and depressing emotional terrain is so we can finally come into the light and love buried underneath. We would not think logically that the deeper we go into the darkness of the subconscious mind that ultimately, we would find light. It is like saying to just go deeper and deeper into a tunnel where we can see no end in sight.
Yet that is why we need a trustworthy guide, someone to shepherd us into the light.
Maggie tells me that if we don’t make this journey, whatever we seem to be doing in the world will be run by this unconscious programming of fear, guilt, shame, lack, and unworthiness. We will either feel our hearts contract and not feel safe to express and share ourselves in an authentic way. Or, we feel so compelled to be constantly doing, helping, serving, and searching outside ourselves for a sense of worth and validation; yet no matter what we seem to do or experience outside, it simply will never be enough. Why? Because, deep down, we believe ourselves to be not enough. All the external markers of success, all the money and possessions in the world, and even all the relationships in our life cannot compensate for that inner lack. It can only be fulfilled from within when we see that it was never true to begin with. The shame, guilt, and unworthiness – all of it- merely were a smokescreen preventing us from experiencing our innate wholeness.
When we do make this journey inward, with Maggie’s help (or whomever we feel is our highest inner wisdom), and joined with our mighty companions, we can experience this truth first-hand and reclaim this buried treasure of love and light. Finally, we can act from this space of wholeness. No longer do we need to get something from the world, but we have something so precious to share that simply wants to flow forth from us. Like the fragrance from a beautiful flower simply wafts into the air. Or the glow from the sunset gloriously paints the evening sky. The love and light simply move through us and we heal and receive as we give and offer this to all of our brothers and sisters. There is no sense of separation and our needs are taken care of in ways we could never have imagined.
Will Smith: My motivation for success was my need for adoration
A client shared a video with me where the actor Will Smith shares how since childhood, he felt this compulsion to compete and succeed because he simply needed external adoration and validation. Yet at the height of his success an actor and rapper, his personal life was in crisis. His six-year-old daughter helped him to realize that he was unhappy because he had an idea of what his perfect family should look like and this was not who they were. This insight, from his precocious and wise daughter, helped Smith realize how his past egoic conditioning based on lack and not feeling worthy was threatening his marriage and family peace and harmony. Will Smith’s willingness to expose his feelings of weakness and vulnerability demonstrate that no matter how successful we may appear to be on the outside, it is simply a facade if we don’t do the deeper inner healing work.
