I am so happy to share that my book, Physician, Heal Thyself : A Doctor’s Journey from Medicine to Miracles is now available on Audible.
Hooray!
I want to also share what inspired, or actually, who inspired me to create my audiobook.
Attitudinal Healing and Jerry Jampolsky, MD
As a young medical student, I was already seeking a more expansive way to understand healing. One day I came across a small paperback titled Love is Letting Go of Fear written by Jerry Jampolsky, MD. In his book, Jerry mentioned the teachings of A Course in Miracles. Not only did I end up studying A Course in Miracles because of Jerry’s book, but I eventually created Coaching for Inner Peace based on Jerry’s internationally acclaimed work with Attitudinal Healing.
Jerry inspired me because he came to the teachings of A Course in Miracles as a physician who was struggling with alcohol issues and deep pain following a difficult divorce. When he opened A Course in Miracles, he heard an inner voice say to him, “Physician, heal thyself!”
As Jerry deeply applied and internalized the teachings of A Course in Miracles, he not only healed from his pain and struggles with alcohol, but he went on to create Attitudinal Healing, “a cross-cultural method of healing that helps remove self-imposed blocks such as judgment, blame, shame and self-condemnation that are in the way of experiencing lasting love, peace, and happiness.”
Attitudinal Healing “is based on the belief that it is not people or experiences outside of ourselves that cause us to be upset. Rather, it is our thoughts, attitudes, and judgments about them that cause us distress.”
Walking his talk : Leading by demonstration
Jerry and his wife, Diane Cirincione-Jampolsky, Ph.D, and their dedicated team helped to spread Attitudinal Healing across six continents and over four decades. I was deeply honored when Jerry wrote a testimonial for my book which appears on the book cover.
Jerry was always teaching through the many books, audios, and videos he shared. Yet perhaps what impresses me most is that Jerry’s life was a living demonstration of his teachings. When Jerry’s voice became hoarse as a result of a medical procedure, he stated that perhaps this was because he really did not have much more to say. Later, when he lost his physical sight, he said that for the first time he was truly seeing – with his inner vision.
When my book was published in January 2020, I eagerly mailed a copy to Jerry and Diane. And it was then I realized that I had to create an audiobook for Jerry – so he might hear the book since he was unable to read. I started the recording right away but with the pandemic and all, I was unable to publish the book until just last month.
The teachings of Jerry Jampolsky are eternal
I feel sad that I was unable to share the book with Jerry who passed away in December 2020.
Here is a 5-minute beautiful musical tribute and interview with Jerry from 2011.
Here is a touching tribute to Jerry from his son, Lee Jampolsky, that was recorded a couple of weeks before his passing.
Sharing my audiobook
When I told Diane about my audiobook, she downloaded it right away; she was grateful that I had recorded it so that it could be heard and not just read- especially for those like Jerry who were unable to see or read.
I loved recording my book. I hope that you will feel my love and inspiration in each word!
If my book has inspired you, please leave a review on Amazon, and let your family and friends know about my book! I trust that this book will find its way to those that will benefit most – by you all sharing how it has helped you. 🙂
