Who am I?
Am I the roles I play in my life?
Am I my educational and professional accomplishments?
Am I the possessions I seem to have?
Am I a just a product of my family upbringinging? Or my culture? Or my ethnicity?
Or am I something more?
At some point in our earthly journey this question begins to percolate in our awareness. We may try to ignore it and distract ourselves with all sorts of external pursuits yet this question will not go away. It must be answered. We may not realize this in our conscious awareness yet this is the most important question we can ask. And we need the answer to this question like a man in a desert needs water. Our thirst like his thirst must be quenched.
But often finding the answer is not about doing more. It actually is about an undoing of special roles we may have collected along the way. It is a process of a deep cleansing of the mind of self-created self-concepts so that who we truly are can shine through clearly and brightly. Watch this video where I share a situation where I negotiated a transition of work roles and how these ideas helped ease my letting go. Enjoy!
