Nicky Vreeland, grandson of Vogue editor Diana Vreeland and son of a diplomat father, leads a very pampered and charmed life until his passion for photography lands him in an Indian Tibetan monastery. He returns to the States and soon learns to meditate while he apprentices to a senior Tibetan Buddhist teacher and scholar. Eventually Nicky decides to leave his life of luxury and comfort behind to become a Tibetan Buddhist monk in India. The documentary shares beautiful scenes of the Tibetan Buddhist as well as amazing black-and-white photographs taken by Nicky of his fellow monks which eventually are sold and generate the money needed to rebuild the monastery.
