As a medical doctor, my training often focused on the body and all the ways I could help heal the body. Later as an integrative medical practitioner, I often felt confused at the staggering array of healing modalities available to me and my clients – in terms of traditional as well as complementary models of medicine.
Yet as I dived deeply into mind body medicine, and then the teachings of A Course in Miracles, I realized what I needed most was a paradigm shift.
To see the body in a very different way.
To go deeper into the mind to allow healing.
Finally, it was key to reflect on one question that somehow never got answered in all my medical training:
What is the purpose of the body?
Or stated another way: How am I using my body?
Message from Maggie Day 4 – Caring for the body
When I connected with Maggie to help me understand how best to care for the body, here is what I heard:
The body, when dedicated to the role of service, is beautiful to behold. The service may simply be to sing, to smile, to sit in silence and radiate peace and joy, or to be used in some other act of physical charity or care. The body is meant for that—an instrument of communication—to be loved through, laughed through, smiled through, hugged through.
