One of the major blocks to healing is a collective belief in “sin”- feeling somehow that we are not worthy of love, that we are deeply and permanently flawed and somehow just not good enough. This can be deeply buried inside our subconscious minds and often become projected onto others especially in our relationships where we feel we are being unfairly treated or somehow not receiving the love and respect we feel we need and deserve.
It’s a funny thing because on the surface we are feeling that all we want is to be loved and cared for yet at the same time we hold onto these beliefs in “sin.”
It was so wonderful in my reading of Meggan Watteson’s Mary Magdalene Revealed to came across a different way to view this whole idea of “sin.”
“Sin in Mary’s gospel is not about a long list of moral or religious laws; it’s not about wrong action. Sin is simply forgetting the truth and reality of the soul- and then acting from that forgetful state. The body then, the human body, isn’t innately sinful. ‘Sin’ is when we believe we are only this body, these insatiable needs, these desires and fears the ego conjures. ‘Sin’ is an ‘adultery,’ or an illegitimate mixing, a mistaking of the ego for the true self, rather than remembering that the true self is the soul.” |
Hope this supports you in your journey of healing – and reclaiming our utter perfection, purity and innocence.
