In the spirit of the holidays,The Spirit of Christmas is a movie that beautifully portrays themes of love and forgiveness. Christmas is a season that can open our hearts to miracles- and this movie may spark some miracle-minded thinking for you!
My friend and teacher, David Hoffmeister, introduced me to this movie.
It is a sweet, light-hearted movie about a woman who falls in love with a ghost. Yes, you read right. She falls in love with the ghost of a man who died mysteriously in a murder about a century ago. The woman tries to prepare and sell an estate but the ghost interferes. He considers the estate to be his home.
I enjoyed this movie because it stretched my mind to open up to a deeper way to understand forgiveness, and even love. I found myself questioning concepts of death and linear time.
Can forgiveness heal age-old wounds that are taken with us to the grave?
Can love connect us over a span of time and even beyond death?
